Students for a Free Tibet are bringing a group of ten monks from the Drepung Gomang Monastery in Southern India to St. Louis to talk about China's occupation of Tibet. Inspired by the Fourteenth Dalai Lama of Tibet's efforts to create a bridge between the cultures of the East and the West, the monastery's North American tour seeks to create a foundation for friendship and generate funds to insure the survival of Tibetan culture. The monks will offer merchandise for sale. More than 1,500 monks are currently studying at Gomang monastery, with about 150 new arrivals annually.
