Flowers are pretty and they don't move. That makes it relatively easy to take decent pictures of them, which is good if, say, you need a last-minute topic for a photo spread in an online magazine. So armed with my digital camera, I took advantage of the gorgeous weather we've been having and made a quick trip to the Botanical Garden and my neighbor's front yard to snap some local flora. I played around with macro mode for the first time (arty!) and looked on with bemusement at the guys (it's almost always guys) hauling their enormous camera rigs around the Garden as if they were shooting a safari for National Geographic.
Spring always fills me with a sense of unbridled potential and the hope that maybe this will be the year I finally get to all those home and garden projects. Get outside and enjoy it while you can. The heat and humidity of summer are just around the corner.
